Tips How To Heal Sunburn

You need to protect your skin when it is exposed to direct sun light, and it really doesn't matter how tanned you already are. You can still get sunburned, and this is not only highly uncomfortable, but it can also be dangerous. If you need some advice about how to heal sunburn, here are some little tips that you might find useful.

When you notice your skin is getting red, it's time to get out from the sun. When you can, immediately take a cold shower, or at least rinse the skin with fresh water. Apply another layer of your sunscreen product and find a shade. Wear protective clothes and a hat. In fact, having a hat on the beach is always a good idea. It protects your face and shoulders and it looks cool.

Once you come home, take a cold shower and leave the skin to dry naturally, without using a towel. Depending how serious your sunburns are, you might be having blisters on some area. If you do, apply a generous amount of mild moisturizer, containing aloe vera and, if it is really needed, protect the skin with a gaze. Take frequent showers to ease the pain and discomfort.

When it comes to aloe vera products, choose those with no fragrances added. Pay special attention to a presence of components finishing with -caine, especially benzocaine. Avoid buying and applying such products. For this particular purpose, your moisturizer should be as natural as possible, to avoid possible side effects and allergies. Aloe vera is great for treating skin damages.

Take a pain killer or a simple aspirin to ease the pain and reduce the swelling. Wear some comfortable clothes and stay out from the sun. Drink as much water as you can, but avoid drinking any other liquids, except maybe freshly squeezed juice. Any alcohol is strictly forbidden because it will certainly make things worst.

There are some home remedies that might also be quite helpful. For damages without blisters, try applying cold yogurt on, or maybe sour cream, if you don't have yogurt. Hold it there for some time, and then rinse. Slices of fresh cucumber act reduce swelling, and cool the skin. Remember to take a shower, do not rub skin with a towel and apply moisturizer frequently.

You could also apply good quality almond oil on damaged areas. It will speed up the process of recovery. The same effect has the olive oil, but it has to be perfectly pure. Do not apply cooling creams you might have, because they are too intensive for applying on sunburns, and you will cause more damage to the skin.

Avoid spicy food and fats for a day or two. Instead, eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, drink large amounts of water and if you need a snack, choose any kind of nuts instead of sweets. This way you will get enough vitamins and minerals, as well as liquids, to help you organism to recover.
