One Of A Kind Holiday Wreaths Lawrence Kansas Homeowners Will Want To Display

By Andrew Walker

The holidays bring out the creative side in many people. Those who would never think to attempt arts and crafts projects at any other time buy idea books, gather supplies, and heat up the glue gun. Not everything works out the way it's supposed to, but creating holiday wreaths Lawrence Kansas homeowners are proud to display are some of the easiest projects you can do.

If you keep magazines because there are recipes or articles in them you have been meaning to read, but never get around to, creating a magazine wreath could be a good project. It requires cutting up some of the magazines though. Cutting the squares is the most time consuming part of the project. This something you could do while you are engaged in something else like your favorite television show.

Old greeting cards can get stacked up too. Instead of throwing them out, you could make a wreath out of them using a stencil to cut the holly leaf design. You just have to glue the cut out holly to a wreath form, add a ribbon, and your project is complete.

If you have access to some old neckties, you can make a unique and creative wreath design by cutting the ties up and folding them over a donut form. If you're using ties that belong to a relative, it's a good idea to get permission to destroy their neck wear. Otherwise you can pick them up for next to nothing at thrift stores. The necktie hanging bow is the only tie not cut.

An interesting idea for a kitchen wreath, that is interesting, attractive, and practical, is one made primarily of tea bags. If you love hot tea and collect different varieties, you can create a holiday decoration using the bags and some clothes pins. Once you're finished you and your guests will have tea choices hanging on your wall. Simply replenish the wreath as bags are used.

Another wreath that is a great addition to your kitchen is one made out of star shaped cookie cutters. You'll need a dozen cookie cutters, some tie twists and paper clip. You clip the cookie cutters together and secure them with the ties. Adding a small pine or holly bough and hanging it by a ribbon is all that's left to do.

Cork wreaths are perfect projects for wine loving craftsmen. You might have to start saving corks earlier in the year in order to have enough for a wreath. Along with the corks, you need wire and little jingle bells. Drilling holes in the corks is the trickiest part. Alternating corks and bells, you will have the project done and hanging above your bar in no time.

You can spend a lot of money on custom made wreaths, or you can create them yourself. Not only will you save money, but you will impress your friends and family. You will also have a holiday decoration that expresses your own creativity and taste.
