By Anthony Hughes

Generally, aging affects the capabilities of seniors to safely move around their homes and eve around the community. As a result, walkers are necessary in making easy their movement. Nevertheless, walkers used by the elderly come in different designs, for instance those with wheels and those without. Because their design is for variant but specified purposes, there is need to consider a Walker with big wheels to enhance your mobility.

Usually, the seniors may suffer from decreased balance, strength, vision, and other issues which can affect their ability to walk safely. But since the level of assistance and the needed support varies, there are also different types of walkers for the seniors. For instance, hemi-walkers are designed for seniors who have been fully or partially paralyzed on one side. These types of walkers are a one hand use. It is commonly used by elderly who have stroke on one side or those who have a surgery or fracture to their wrist, arm, collarbone or shoulder.

Folding walkers are a second type that an aged person may rely on. These typically have 2 handles with 4 legs and no wheels. Also, their height remain adjustable and may be folded in half. These walkers can be ideal to aged individuals who will exert some more weight onto the walkers. This is, for example, the individuals who may be unable to place more weight to their legs especially after knee surgical procedures or even hip replacements.

Front wheel walkers is the other kind, also known as two-wheeled walkers. These are walkers that can be used by aged individuals just like other typical ones. Owing to the fact that they possess skids for hind legs with wheels to their front legs, they will slide easily.

The two wheel walkers are similar to the folding walkers and can be folded in half. This particular type is more ideal for the elderly who want to place some but not all weight on the walker. This type is also light weight, can be transported easily, and also slides on the floor. However, they are usually not ideal for the elderly who want to put so much weight on a walker.

The other type is the rollator walker also called four-wheeled walkers. These have four wheels, a basket, a seat, and brakes. In addition, they remain suitable for use outdoors and indoors with big wheeled ones being preferred for outdoor use as they can roll easily on uneven grounds.

Rollators remain suitable the aged individuals who may want walkers just for balancing. Such remains advantageous for the reason that elderly persons can easily carry with them light luggage, rest, sit. The also provide security in case of a need to clutch to something.

The other kind is the 3-wheel walker that is like the rollator but with a one wheel less and no seat. They as well are stable to be used both outdoors and indoor but are not much stable as the rollators because of having a less wheel. They are normally suitable for older persons who are strong, able to balance, and can endure but may not need extra stability given by other kinds of walkers such as rollators.
