The Traits Shared Between Game Companies & Collection Agencies

By Rob Sutter

It's clear that collection agencies have performed well in the past and they understand what it takes in order to attain what is owed. After all, clients have amounts which have to be gained and they may not be able to claim them on their own. In essence, these agencies work as third parties, operating on behalf of someone else in order to make sure that business is done. That being said, is it possible that companies in the gaming industry share more than a couple of traits?

I think that this is fair to say, especially when the big three console developers have all worked at high levels. Constantly, they've put their faith in the hands on third parties, Sony being just one example which is worth taking into consideration. In particular, Naughty Dog has proven itself as a powerhouse of sorts, whether gamers realize it or not. Between "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us," it's clear that Sony has been able to trust others with its IP and for good reason.

It's clear that Nintendo understands much when it comes to content and it's hard to argue against this. To me, the company has done much in order to help the Wii U attain exclusive content, "Lego City Undercover" being just one title to consider. It's clear that almost everyone knows about the Lego brand, since it's a household name. However, the game had to be crafted with a sense of quality and it seemed like Nintendo's assistance made certain that this title proved to be one that was constructed well.

The biggest gaming moguls want to make impact, which goes without saying, but can this necessarily be done without third parties? To me, they offer the support needed in order to help push companies to levels which are higher than what were probably thought possible. It seems like collection agencies can serve in similar fashions, considering that they are third parties in the sense of attaining debts. When individuals alone cannot go through this process, such entities as Rapid Recovery are the ones which are brought into effect.

I'm sure that not everyone would be able to draw this kind of parallel but I think that it's one worth talking about. To me, it's the kind of comparison which can be made because of the similarity of utilizing third parties. It's clear that gaming companies will always make use of these companies since it's needed in order to create an install base. With collection purposes at hand, making use of agencies in this regard can help attain amounts which may not be feasible otherwise.
